Shanghai-based online game company The9 (Nasdaq:NCTY) added new terms to the user agreement of its licensed 3D MMORPG World of Warcraft (WoW) during a May 12 content update, including one term that said that The9 has the right to suspend, terminate and/or delete gamer accounts, reports 17173.com. Users accept the new terms of agreement by registering game accounts and entering the game, the agreement said.
The9's licensing contract for WoW with Blizzard Entertainment, a division of Activision Blizzard (Nasdaq:ATVI), is set to expire on June 7, reports Donews quoting an industry insider.
