Bordeaux president admits winger is on the verge of Red Devils deal

Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud has revealed that winger Gabriel Obertan is on the verge of signing for Manchester United.

The highly rated 20-year-old became a regular for Les Girondins at the just 17 but last season found chances hard to come by under former Red Devils defender Laurent Blanc.

The French Under 21 international was loaned out to fellow Ligue 1 side Lorient for the second half of last season where he featured 15 times, scoring once.

Arsenal, Inter Milan and AC Milan are said to have been interested in the youngster but it appears United have won the race for his signature for an undisclosed fee.

"There is a very strong likelihood that the deal will go ahead," confirmed Triaud to L'Equipe.

"Manchester United want to sign him and, for our part, we would be delighted to see Gabriel playing for such a prestigious club.

"We will make the official announcement when the time is right."

Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud has revealed his winger Gabriel Obertan is on the verge of signing with English champions Manchester United.
Obertan, 20, is a Bordeaux youth product and spent the last six months of last season on loan at Ligue 1 rivals Lorient, making 15 league appearances for Les Merlus, scoring once.

"The is a very strong likelihood that the deal will go ahead," confirmed Triaud. "Manchester United want to sign him and, for our part, we would be delighted to see Gabriel playing for such a prestigious club.

"We will make the official announcement when the time is right," he added.

United's French tradition

Obertan would appear set to become the ninth Frenchman to play for the Red Devils after Eric Cantona, William Prunier, Mickaël Silvestre, current Bordeaux coach Laurent Blanc, Fabien Barthez, current Bordeaux teammate David Bellion, Louis Saha and Patrice Evra.

曼聯最新收購已獲對方主席確認紅魔敲定又一新邊鋒

曼聯簽下了華倫西亞，但費格遜引進邊鋒的舉動並未停止，據法國波爾多球會主席泰利亞烏德披露，紅魔即將簽下該隊的年輕邊鋒基比奧-奧巴坦。

奧巴坦今年20歲，他在17歲時就成為了球隊的主力，但上賽季，主教練白蘭克給他的機會有限，下半賽季被租借到了洛里恩特隊，出場15次攻入1球。

有傳聞稱，阿仙奴、國際米蘭和AC米蘭對奧博坦感興趣，但現在看來，曼聯有可能贏得了競爭。波爾多主席泰利亞烏德在接受《隊報》採訪時說：「有很大的可能，這筆交易將會做成。」

「曼聯希望簽下他，從我們的立場說，我們很高興看到基比奧為這樣一家大球會踢球。等時機成熟，我們將會做出官方的正式聲明。」

目前，曼聯方面尚未對這一消息做出回應。
