Slovenia coach Matjaz Kek has announced his provisional squad for the 2010 World Cup. Kek named 30 players who will join up in Ljubjana on Wednesday to start preparations for this summer's tournament.

The biggest surprises in Kek's squad are the names of Aleksandar Rajcevic, Miran Burgic, Jan Koprivec and Tim Matavz. None of the four were regulars in Slovenia's World Cup qualifying campaign.

The 21-year-old Matavz has been in superb for Eredivisie outfit Groningen this season and is now tipped to make the final 23-man squad, despite the fact that he has yet to make his first international appearance at senior level.

The Slovenians are grouped with England, United States and Algeria in the first round of the World Cup. They start the tournament with a match against Algeria on June 13.
