THERE’s double trouble in store for Premiership teams after twinbrothers from Heaton Mersey signed up to become Manchester Unitedplayers.
Michael and William Keane have both signed a schoolboy scholarship with the Red Devils.
Following in the footsteps of the Neville brothers, Gary and Phil, theduo are avid United fans and have three-year contacts by the end ofwhich they hope to have moved off the Old Trafford terraces and ontothe pitch.
They have played in the same junior teams from a young age.The twins,who are pupils at St Bede’s College, Manchester, will train and playalongside their education. Both have been training with United sincethe age of 11 when they were spotted playing for South ManchesterJuniors.
They will hopefully go on to equal or possibly excel the success ofanother former Bedian - the striker Neil Mellor, who was a veryprolific striker for liverpool in youth and reserve games but gotshipped off to preston afetr games came hard to come by.

Michael is a strong tackling and quick centre half. His ability to readthe play and play thats about to happen is a main reason in why he hasbeen at United for so long. It is hard to know at such a young agewheter he is destined to the top but he is gonna be a very tidy player.

William on the other is a typical out and out striker with pace toburn. Smaller than his brother but this only aids his trickery as hislow centre of gravity lets him "Float" around the pitch. He has awicked shot on him although his finishing can let him down as seen forEngland's U.16's where he his a regular and played alongside team matesRavel Morrison,Tom Thorpe and highly rated youngster John Cofie. Aregular for England u.16's a player with a bright future ahead of him.Same as Michael it is hard to know at such a young age wheter eitherwill make it at United.
In My opinion William is more talented but with all the attackersgenerally at United I believe Michael has a better chance of making thegrade at United but why not both Eh?????????? |
