Itis still very early to start believing rumours about next season’s teamshirts cropping up like mushrooms on different sites on the net.Manchester United have started the search to replace AIG as sponsors oftheir shirt, and sent their shirt with the respective logo of theprospective sponsors. Just like what happened with Air Asia, these aredifficult to keep away from the press. It is rumoured that the 2009/10kits will commemorate the shirt worn for the 1909 FA Cup, exactly 100years ago. If this would mean that both the home and away kits arespecial 1-year editions, or if the club will stick to the tradition ofissuing 2-year home shirts, is still unclear.
The leaked picture of the Red Devils’ away kit contain the logo ofprospective sponsor Saudi Telecom. Whether this is the actual thing ornot is subject to speculation. The kit consists of the V design, inred, extending from the shoulders to the middle, on the white basecolour. The sponsor logo of Saudi Telecom is small and placed below thered Nike Swoosh on the right side of the chest. The shirt has a lacedup collar, and red sleeves ends.
Comparisons can be drawn between the leaked shirt and the 1909 shirt in which Man Utd triumphed in the FA Cup, shown above.
