HBK in Detroit, Vince McMahon's New WWE Role

Story By: Steve Carrier
- Carl Dantes sent in the following news item about Shawn Michaels appearing at the Championship Auto Show in Detroit next month:

Shawn Michaels will be making an appearance & signing autographs at the Championship Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan on February 27th from 1:00PM to 4:00PM. As far as I can tell, autographs are free with admission to the show, which costs $15 for adults & $5 for children. The show takes place at Cobo Center, One Washington Blvd., Detroit, MI 48226.

- A new "employment agreement" Vince McMahon and World Wrestling Entertainment went into effect on January 1st and will run for three years until December 31, 2013. According to the official SEC Filing posted at WWE.com, McMahon's new role in the company is as follows:

"In addition to his duties and responsibilities as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Company, the Executive shall serve as the Company’s creative director, and as a writer, and performer at various times for and in the Company’s events and productions."

The three-year deal gives McMahon generous compensation if he is terminated "other than for cause" or leaves on his own accord with "good reason." It also includes a 1-year no compete clause in the event that his agreement is terminated.

Launch Date for WWE Tough Enough Announced, More

Story By: Marc Middleton
- The New York Times is reporting that WWE's Tough Enough will return on Monday, April 4th at 8pm EST - right before RAW and the night after WrestleMania 27. WWE should be making the official announcement later today.

The return of Tough Enough will feature 12 men and women competing for a one-year WWE contract.

WWE is looking to bring new viewers in by offering "scripted reality" TV before RAW each week. Kevin Dunn, WWE's executive TV producer said, “It’s a way to bring eyeballs to the WWE product that wouldn’t necessarily watch a live event wrestling show.”

Dunn also said that the USA Network has been talking with WWE for years about bringing back Tough Enough.

Tiffany Talks About Drew & Kelly's WWE Storyline, More

Story By: Marc Middleton
- Former WWE Diva Taryn "Tiffany" Terrell was just interviewed by The Miami Herald. Here are some highlights:

Her relationship with Drew McIntyre and the future:
"I went from working as much as Drew to, all of a sudden, he is gone all the time. I'm home all the time, so I have to play housewife. That is a little weird and definitely not who I am because I like to work a lot. The whole situation sucks, but on the other hand, there are other opportunities.

`Tommy Dreamer and I are really good friends, so maybe there is an opportunity over at TNA. I actually also have a match (indy match) on February 5th against Cheerleader Melissa in San Francisco."

Her wrestling and non-wrestling roles:
"I don't feel I got to the point where I would call myself a `good' wrestler but I was definitely working my butt off to get there.

I really had a lot more to offer in the ring. I enjoyed that and working with Layla and Michelle [McCool]. They were such a pleasure to work with. I was really bummed out because for the longest time I was the general manager for ECW, so I feel like there was so much more I could have shown.

I was training for three years with the likes of Billy Kidman and Dr. Tom Prichard. They had me in the general manager role, which is great, but I would go in every week and tell them that I wanted to do something more. Then when I finally got it, it was taken away a few months later."

The current storyline with Kelly Kelly and Drew McIntyre:
"Drew had gone to the writers quite a few times to pitch that exact storyline with me. Then, since I got released, they decided to use Kelly. I'm not really sure if that was meant as a way of, `Yeah. You're gone. Let us torture you a little bit' or not. It is what it is. I will never know.

It sucks because I know that was the role originally pitched for me and Drew, which would have been amazing because we are actually a couple. I think it's a little bit ridiculous because everyone who watches WWE knows that we are married. So it's a little strange. I personally don't understand it, but at the same time I sort of get myself into a little bit of controversy talking about it.

I get all these tweets saying how I feel about it and about how it's not acting. Wrestling is real. The actual wrestling is real. Everybody beats the crap out of each other. That's all real. What goes on backstage and is written by the writers is all acting. It's acting. So it doesn't hurt my feelings.

It's awkward for them too. Kelly's boyfriend has to sit there and watch it all too. It's a little awkward for everybody, but at the same time, I had to do something similar with Ricky Ortiz when I was on ECW. Drew had to watch us touch lips."

Story By: Marc Middleton
- Former WWE Diva Taryn "Tiffany" Terrell revealed more information to The Miami Herald this weekend about the upcoming DivaMania tour with her, Jillian Hall and Maria Kanellis.

The tour is being put together by Terrell and Andrew Scott, president of Scott Celebrity Management. The three former Divas will be making stops across the world meeting fans.

Tiffany said:

"It has really come together. We have really great names associated with it. We all have such a following. It's really going to be cool to be able to get out there to talk to our fans and meet our fans, as well as tour the country and the world. We don't have to worry about the PG level of WWE anymore, which is what we were under the constraints of.

So now we get to let loose and be who we are. Andrew Scott has been amazing to put this whole thing together. I think there is going to be a lot of interest in it. I'm ready to party down with everybody around the world."
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________Update on WWE Planning Their Own Cable TV Network

Story By: Marc Middleton
- The New York Times' new report on WWE programming notes that they are still looking at launching their own cable TV network and that the NBC/WWE relationship being deepened with the return of Tough Enough may help the chances of that network.

Kevin Dunn, WWE's executive TV producer, said the addition of Tough Enough to USA would not hurt the chances of launching the cable network. Dunn added that WWE is still talking to partners for their own TV network and those potential partners include NBC Universal.

As noted before, WWE's Donna Goldsmith said back in November that it will be the middle of 2012 or early 2013 before they are ready to move forward with the network. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________WWE Returns of Christian and The Great Khali

Story By: Steve Carrier
- SmackDown Superstar Christian may be returning to the ring next month. Either way, he should be back in the ring before WrestleMania 27. He has been out of action with a torn pec and was last seen on the Slammy's RAW with Edge.

- The Great Khali is expected to return to action in time for the Royal Rumble later this month. Khali has reached the finals on India's Big Boss reality TV show. The finale airs on Saturday, January 8th.
