The Toffees are hoping to challenge the top four for a place in the UEFA Champions League next season, and manager David Moyes wants to take Boudewijn Zenden from archrivals Liverpool.

The former Dutch international is out of contract this summer and will leave Anfield, and his agent and father has revealed there is already plenty of interest in the midfield player.

"There is not a rush, everyone is on vacation at the moment," Zenden snr told Sky Sports. "There are a number of interested parties, but nothing in detail at the moment.

"He likes it there [in England] but we will see what happens - we don't know when anything will be sorted, a month, a few weeks - we don't know.”

Jamie Carragher underlined the critical nature of Liverpool's summer spending plans yesterday as he recalled how Gerard Houllier blew a similar opportunity to bridge the gap at the top of the Premiership.

As co-owner Tom Hicks revealed Liverpool were just days away from completing the first of several key signings, believed to be Lyon's Florent Malouda, Carragher warned of the pitfalls that scuppered Houllier's hopes of developing a title-winning team five years ago when nearly £20million was spent on El Hadji Diouf, Salif Diao and Bruno Cheyrou.

Bolton seek loan deal for Liverpool's Cisse

Bolton Wanderers are seeking a loan deal for Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse.

New boss Sammy Lee wants to take the French international, 25, for the whole season.

Wanderers chairman Phil Gartside said: "Sammy Lee is looking to build a squad for next season."

Cisse - who cost Liverpool ￡14m from Auxerre in July 2004 - spent last season on loan at Marseille.

And with Rafa Benitez looking to spend big in the summer, there is unlikely to be a place for him at Anfield.

Didier Drogba is urging Chelsea to sign Florent Malouda.

The striker and French winger played together at Guingamp and Drogba believes they would build another formidable partnership if Malouda, who is also a target for Liverpool, made the switch from Lyon to Stamford Bridge.

Before i start i am not writing this saying that Henry is going to Liverpool. I hate it when people claim to have inside infomation but i heard something today and i thought i would pass it on.
A bloke i work with is an evertonian from liverpool and his borthers mrs works for liverpool in a hospitality role.
Which basicaly means she looks after players etc.

She has said that Henry has spent the whole day around anfield and has been dealing with estate agents in the area.


Thats it im not trying to say henry will be a Liverpool player next season you take from this whatever you want, i am just passing on the info.

If this is true I think it could be the reason why there are a lot of stories stating huge sums of money linking us with eto.

This is not Rafas style to go advertising big transfers before the deal is made and so it is my opinion that it could be a smoke screen to cover up what i think would be a very good buy in henry.

HICKS: NEW STADIUM WILL EXCITE FANS

  Liverpool co-owner Tom Hicks has revealed that plans for the new stadium have now been finalised and promised Reds fans will love what they see.  
According to Hicks, the new designs are set to be presented to the council later this month and then will be available for the fans to see.
  
"The design is now final," he enthused, "it's spectacular and I can't wait for everybody to see it. I think our fans will love it. It's very creative architecture, very contemporary but also unique to Liverpool.
  
"It is all centered around the Kop - it will be the symphony stage that plays to the symphony hall."
  
Meanwhile, Hicks also promised supporters that a lot of work is going on behind the scenes to tie up players on longer deals and bring in news face to strengthen Rafael Benitez's squad ahead of the new season.
  
"I would say to fans, 'just be patient', because we're talking to Rafa often," he added. "Rick Parry is in charge of getting the contracts negotiated and I think the fans will like the outcome. Maybe we'll hear something in the next week."
