西班牙領隊阿拉干尼斯選出西班牙大軍陣容，當中前鋒摩連迪斯最終落選。

較早前阿拉干尼斯選出的廿七人大軍當中，最終放棄了摩連迪斯、卡迪維拿、查維雲達與及巴拉查。

而效力英格蘭球會的法比加斯、雷耶斯、沙比阿朗素、拉爾拿與及路爾斯加西亞均獲得入選。

西班牙將會在分組賽首仗出戰擁有「核彈頭」舒夫真高帶領的烏克蘭。

利物浦隊長謝拉特與主席摩爾斯均表示下季球隊將會以英超冠軍為目標。

摩爾斯在未來幾周將會選擇一些新的財社以便讓他們對球隊進行投資，摩爾斯表示：「今季我們有明顯的進步，我總是感覺我們與車路士非常接近。上季我們贏得了歐聯，今季我們贏得了足總杯，現在，我們的下一個目標就是英超。這是我們在過去15年裡我一直夢想得到的冠軍，我很希望會看到我們可以贏得這一項錦標，希望我不用等太久。」

另一方面，對於施斯在下季是否會繼續成為紅軍一員，施斯自己這樣說：「主帥並沒有向我說出任何的有關我未來的事，接下來我將會參加世界杯，也許在那之後他將會有所表示，也許在世界杯之後我才會與主帥坐下來好好談談，就我個人來說，我不想離開，如果我可以選擇，我想留在英格蘭，留在利物浦。」

據英倫足球網消息：利物浦後衛裡瑟在日前慶祝紅軍獲得足總杯冠軍時表示，紅軍已經取得了長足的進步，在連續兩個賽季獲得冠軍後，利物浦將在下賽季把目標確定為聯賽冠軍。


25歲的裡瑟在利物浦同韋斯咸的比賽中於點球大戰中罰入了關鍵點球，紅軍就此取得了足總杯冠軍，而在去年，利物浦剛剛通過逆轉AC米蘭的方式獲得了冠軍杯冠軍。裡瑟表示，連續的冠軍經驗後，利物浦將把注意力放在聯賽中。

「下一個賽季我們的目標將是爭奪聯賽冠軍，這當然很有難度，但我相信我們有能力做到，」裡瑟說，他承認車路士依然處於優勢地位，但絕非不可戰勝，「希望我們在下個賽季捧起的獎杯是聯賽冠軍。」

談及足總杯決賽，裡瑟特別對於球隊的心態給出了肯定，在90分鐘結束前，利物浦通過謝拉特35米外的遠射將比分追平，「我從沒有想過我們已經輸掉了比賽，即使在最後時刻，」他表示，「當你擁有這個世界上最出色的球員作為隊友時，你就會確信一切都有可能發生。」

Steven Gerrard basked in the glory of leading Liverpool to FA Cup success and then insisted: "I'd love to get my hands on the Premiership trophy next year!"  
Gerrard just needs a Premiership medal to complete an impressive set of winners medals from the top competitions in European football and he sees no reason why the Reds can't build on their improvement this season and mount a serious title challenge when the new campaign kicks off in August.
  
"The FA Cup is a nice tournament to win and we all enjoyed it, but the Premiership is the one we all want now," he told Liverpoolfc.tv.
  
"It's a nice trophy and I'd love to get my hands on it next season and lift it above my head. That's our special aim now and that's what we'll be thinking about when we start preparing for next season.
  
"My short term focus now is on the World Cup but I must admit I'm excited about what next season could bring for us because I know we have a team of very good players here who can challenge for the Premiership.
  
"We've made great strides this year and I'm sure the boss will strengthen the squad again in the summer to make us even more competitive. There's no doubt about it, we want to win the title next year and we'll give it a really good go.
  
"The reason this club is so successful is because we never dwell on our victories.
  
"This will be no different. We could have lived off the European Cup win this season, but everyone can see how hungry we are for more."

Liverpool will be joined in the third qualifying round of next season's Champions League by at least four former European Cup winning clubs.  
As the domestic leagues across Europe draw to a close Internazionale, SV Hamburg, Benfica and Celtic have all been confirmed as entrants in the final qualifying round before the group phase.
  
This total could rise if Real Madrid miss out to Valencia in the battle for Spain's final automatic group place or Red Star Belgrade come safely through their second qualifying round tie.
  
Other confirmed teams in the third qualifying round so far are - Fiorentina, Lille, AEK Athens, Standard Liege, Galatasaray, Slovan Liberec, CSKA Moscow, Austria Vienna and Shakhtar Donetsk

Dudek left out of Poland World Cup squad

Goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek has been left out of Poland's World Cup squad after failing to hold down his place in the Liverpool team.

The hero of the 2005 Champions League final had been desperate to leave Anfield in January because he knew his World Cup place was under threat. He even asked for a loan move just so that he could be playing on a regular basis but Rafa refused to let him leave.

Sadly confirmation has now come through that the international axe has fallen.

You've got to feel for the lad but you can understand why Rafa was adamant that he remained on Merseyside to provide cover for Reina.
