(星島日報報道)朗尼能否趕及在首仗復出仍有待證實，英格蘭在分組賽的入球重責，始終看重奧雲的表現。奧雲自信能夠承受這龐大壓力，加上中後場隊友的強力支援，入球絕不成問題。

　　奧雲說﹕「這些所謂壓力絕不會影響我的表現，一方面要好好處理，另一方面亦可以好好地享受。代表英格蘭國家隊便要學懂應付壓力，而且每周的英超聯賽亦是非常重要，對此我已習慣。今季我代表紐卡素上陣次數的確較少，但這卻有助我在世盃的發揮。」

　　談到缺少朗尼下，英格蘭的火力會否大幅削弱，奧雲回應說﹕「朗尼、林柏特、謝拉特、碧咸和祖高爾，每位都是獨當一面，能射入精采入球的球員，別忘了還有泰利，在定點球攻勢上他是危險人物。」

路透倫敦電---即將出征德國世界杯的英格蘭隊很清楚，在缺少魯尼(W.朗尼)的狀況下，給予歐文(奧雲)支持和加強遠射是勝利的關鍵。


腳部骨折的魯尼將在下周四進行掃描檢查，但是沒人認為他會在小組賽開始之前能夠康復。他的缺陣使歐文將承擔更重的破門任務。

不過幸運的是，即將第三次參加世界杯的歐文，並沒有被壓力嚇倒，他對記者說︰「這並不會影響我。如果你經常代表英格蘭或者切爾西(車路士)、曼聯、利物浦和阿森納(阿仙奴)這樣的英超頂級球隊比賽，你就會懂得如何化解壓力。」

「我從不會大喜大悲，在很多事情上都能保持中庸的態度。」

歐文經過了很長的一段傷病期，不過他在代表英格蘭出戰的75場比賽中貢獻了35球，破門能力不容置疑。

「我在第一場世界杯比賽中就有進球，在自己的第一場足球比賽中就有進球，而且第一次代表利物浦出場時也有進球，」歐文說。「這些第一次的出現並非源自信心，而應歸功於我的內在素質。」

「我不會因壓力而睡不著，只會想著對手的球門。」

在被問到英格蘭隊的破門能力時，歐文對記者說︰「這正是我認為英格蘭隊強大的地方。我們有多名球員能起到一槌定音的作用，如魯尼、蘭帕德(林柏特)、杰拉德(謝拉特)、貝克漢姆(碧咸)、喬科爾(祖高爾)等等，他們都能用以精采絕倫的進球改變比賽結果。我們能從各個角度進球。」(完)

Tottenham and Liverpool have reportedly opened talks that could see Spurs striker Jermain Defore move to Anfield and Reds winger Harry Kewell switch to the North London club. Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez wants a new striker with Fernando Morientes likely to be on his way out of Anfield this summer, while Kewell seems surplus to requirements at the Merseyside club. Defoe seems like an ideal candidate for a move to Liverpool after the arrival of Bayer Leverkusen striker Dimitar Berbatov at Tottenham earlier this week.

Newspaper reports today claim that Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez is keen on signing Barcelona's Ludovic Guily.

The 29-year-old winger is looking to secure a new 2-year contract with the European Champions but so far they've only offered him an extra 12 months.

It is claimed that Liverpool are prepared to offer Barca £3million for Guily who has been linked with us several times while Rafa's been in charge.

Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse will decide on his future after the World Cup having revealed he ?dreams' of a return to France.

The French forward has been the subject of constant speculation over a summer departure, with Tottenham seemingly ready to swoop.
While Cisse's first choice is to remain on Merseyside, he appears to have now resigned himself to being out of boss Rafa Benitez's plans.

The signing from Auxerre in July, 2004 has failed to have the desired impact at Anfield and is seemingly set to return to his home country, with his former club and Marseille his preferred destinations.

"I would take the time to study the proposal, if it came from Marseille again,'' Cisse told La Provence.

"For me in France, I have two clubs I always dream of; Marseille and Auxerre.

"I repeat, one day I will come to Marseille. After the World Cup, I will make a decision about my future."

Sami Hyypia today spoke of his determination to complete his medal collection by helping the Reds to Premiership glory next season.  
The Finnish defender, like a number of his Anfield team-mates, is just one medal short of the full set with the league title the only domestic trophy to elude him since signing for the Reds seven years ago.
  
Hyypia admits he's satisfied with a campaign which ended with Liverpool as FA Cup winners, but he insists further improvements are still necessary if the Reds are to realise their dream of becoming Premiership champions.
  
He said: "We need to keep improving because that's what everybody else will be doing. Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham will all be working in the transfer market to better their squads and we need to do the same.
  
"The league is getting tougher to win every year but it's the one medal I haven't won and I'd love to do it next season.
  
"This year has been a good one for us because we won a major trophy, but we didn't win the title and we didn't go as far as we wanted to in Europe so there is room for improvement.
  
"I'm sure the manager knows what he wants for next year and he'll be working hard in the summer to put his squad together. The league title is the one we all want now. It's the only medal I haven't won with Liverpool and I'd love to complete the set."
