Mark Gonzalez couldn't hide his delight at scoring at the Kop end on his first Premiership start for Liverpool and the Chile ace now hopes he can make a big impact at Anfield.  

The Reds number 11 hit the first goal in the 3-0 win against Tottenham when he followed up after Craig Bellamy had hit the post. Gonzalez also revealed he is working hard at coming to terms with the physical side of the English game and is determined to make his mark in England.
  
"I'm really happy with my goal because it was really important for us to keep winning," reflected Gonzalez. "Now we've two wins in two games, so we need to keep this going if we want to think about the championship.
  
"It's not been easy for me because I've not played many games, but the more you play the more you learn and get used to it.
  
"I wasn't in the squad for a couple of games because I was ill, but this time it was my turn to play and I felt comfortable out there and happy with how I played. Now I need to keep learning.
  
"English and Spanish football is very different which I've known from the beginning. The pace and physical side of the game isn't the same as Spain.
  
"The physical side is what I'll be working on most. You have to do a lot of running in England and that takes some getting used to.
  
"I like that all the fans knew me and were watching me before I joined the club, because then they know the kind of player you are and the qualities you have.
  
"Now it's up to me to show them, because if people know what to expect, there's no reason why you can't show it.
  
"I feel I can contribute a lot of goals here, scoring and creating, just like I did in Spain. I always look for goals, and I think I'm the type of player who can get them.
  
"I want to show everything I have in my game. Right now I don't think I've shown everything for many reasons. I've not played a lot and I'm not used to English football yet. Hopefully that won't take long, but it's not easy. As soon as I adjust I'm sure I will be a different player.
  
"I'm happy with what I've done for now, with scoring two goals, but I'm determined to do a lot more."

利物浦領隊賓尼迪斯表明為球隊成績著想，暫時無意撤消輪流上陣制。

根據統計，利物浦在近93 場賽事中未曾在連續兩仗起用同一正選陣容。

賓尼迪斯指球員固然希望每一仗均有機會上陣，但球隊每季需征戰超過六十場的賽事，認為極有需要定期讓球員休息。

週三出戰加拉塔沙雷前夕，賓尼迪斯表明今仗球隊今仗勝出的話對球隊晉級前景大有幫助。

中場路爾斯加西亞表示球迷一直期望利物浦能夠在歐聯中再度掄元，不過他指要再奪冠需要更大的努力。

【球迷會網站】紅軍左翼球員基維爾近期一直受到傷患困擾自從2006年德國世界盃決賽周沒有為澳洲上陣對意大利的賽事後這位前列斯聯球星一直在治理其雙腳的傷患  

為了根治困擾多時的傷患基維爾在較早前飛返祖國澳洲以便能得到更佳的治療效果傷患令他最感到遺憾的是去年歐聯決賽無法為紅軍踢足全場今年足總盃決賽基維爾也因傷無法完成比賽下半場被迫退下火線  

基維爾在澳洲已經進行了一次手術以治療其左腳腳趾受感染的部位此外他的右腳足踝部份亦接受了一次治療預算還需要在其祖國繼續養傷超過二星期的時間  

基維爾已急不及待地希望盡快能重新穿上紅軍戰衣「毫無疑問我將會以強勢回歸到時會有更佳的狀態及速度」基維爾向悉尼先驅早報透露  

「已經離隊一段很長時間我非常渴望能重返球場」  

「我現在已經可以自由地走動但在往後的幾個星期裡進行任何事情以前我都會非常非常小心」  

基維爾並表示非常感謝球會的醫護人員在他受傷的這段時間裡面他們一直參與幫助他去擺脫傷患「當我離開球會後就一直和他們溝通他們知道我正在努力地去克服傷患並且一直關注整個治療過程很高興我們能有充分的溝通」基維爾補充

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has been speaking to praise Luis Garcia ahead of tonight's game against Galatasaray.

The 28-year-old cost the Reds &pound;6million and he's delivered some great stuff at times but the boss is the first to admit the player often frustrates him.

Rafa said: "Luis is capable of the best and he is also capable of the worst. But he is a special player who can change games and has scored a lot of important goals in Europe.

"Sometimes he gives the ball away too easily but you have to remember that he usually scores between 10 and 15 goals a season.

"At Tenerife he scored 16 goals for me one season as a left winger, at Barcelona he was a centre-forward in the youth team and I have used him as a right winger and as a second striker. This is a positive rather than a negative."
