STAMFORD, Conn., June 25, 2007 – World Wrestling Entertainment was informed today by authorities in Fayetteville County, Ga., that WWE Superstar Chris Benoit,hiswife, Nancy, and his son were found dead in theirhome.  Authorities areinvestigating, but no other details areavailable at this time.

Instead of its announced programming for tonight on USA Network, WWE will air a three-hour tribute to Chris Benoit.   

Chris was beloved among his fellow Superstars, and was a favoriteamongWWE fans for his unbelievable athleticism and wrestlingability.  Healways took great pride in his performance, and alwaysshowed respectfor the business he loved, for his peers and towards hisfans.  This isa terrible tragedy and an unbearable loss.

WWE extends its sincere condolences and prayers to the Benoit family and loved ones in this time of tragedy.

"WWE extends its sincerest thoughts and prayers to the Benoitfamily'srelatives and loved ones in this time of tragedy," thefederation saidin a statement on its Web site.

Benoit was scheduled to perform at the "Vengeance" pay-per-vieweventSunday night in Houston, but was replaced at the last minutebecause ofwhat announcer Jim Ross called "personal reasons."

Benoit, a Canadian native, maintained a home in metro Atlanta fromthetime he wrestled for the defunct World Championship Wrestling.

The WWE canceled its live "Monday Night RAW" card in CorpusChristi,Texas, and USA Network aired a three-hour tribute to Benoit inplace ofthe scheduled wrestling telecast.

Detective Bo Turner told television station WAGA that the case wasbeingtreated as a murder-suicide, but said that couldn't be confirmeduntilevidence was examined by a crime lab.
The station said that investigators believethe40-year-old Benoit killed his wife, Nancy, and 7-year-old son,Daniel,over the weekend, then himself on Monday. A neighbor calledpolice, andthe bodies were found in three rooms.
Lead investigator Lt. Tommy Pope, of the Fayette County Sheriff's Department, told The Associated Pressthedeaths were being investigated as homicide, and that the causes ofdeathawaited autopsy results on Tuesday. Pope said the bodies werediscoveredabout 2:30 p.m., but refused to release details.
The house is in a secluded neighborhood set back about 60 yards offagravel road, surrounded by stacked stone wall and a double-irongate.On Monday night, the house was dark except for a few outsidelights.There was a police car in front, along with two uniformedofficers.
Benoit was a former world heavyweight and Intercontinental champion. He also held several tag-team titles during his career.

Wrestling star Chris Benoit, his wife, Nancy, and their 7-year-oldsonDaniel were found dead in their suburban Atlanta home Monday.Thedeaths are being investigated as a possible suicide anddoublehomicide, authorities told ABC News.

Lt. Tommy Pope of the Fayette County Sheriff's Department told ABCNewsthat Benoit had missed several appointments over the weekend,leadingconcerned parties to ask police to do a "welfare check." Whensheriffsarrived at the Benoits' home, they found the wrestler, hiswife, andtheir son dead.

There were no signs of gunshot wounds or stabbing, according toPope.Authorities are not ruling out other causes, such aspoisoning,suffocation, or strangulation. Pope told ABC News that hisdepartmentis looking at this situation as a "possible double murder,suicide."

Pope said "the instruments of death were located on scene," butwouldnot specify what those instruments are or where in the house thebodieswere found. Pope added the department is "not actively searchingforany suspects outside of the house."

An autopsy has been scheduled for Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. However, it could be weeks before there is a result.

Benoit, 40, was scheduled to spar against C.M. Punk in apay-per-viewevent Sunday night in Houston for the Extreme ChampionWrestling title.But Benoit canceled before the event, citing personalreasons.

A native of Edmonton, Alberta, Benoit was known in the ring as the "Canadian Crippler."

Part 1
Chris Benoit，出生于阿尔伯达省的埃德蒙顿【加拿大西南部城市，阿尔伯达省的省会】。小时候的Benoit跟平常那些好玩顽皮的小孩并不太相像，他是一位彬彬有礼的小孩，而且对体育有着很大的热情，特别是美式足球（个人评语：怎么那么多摔角手小时候或大学时都喜欢或参加过美式足球啊？）然而，当他第一次看到摔角比赛时，他的思想就开始发生了变化。那时Benoit第一次看到Dynamite Kid在擂台上进行摔角比赛时，他意识到自己注定会成为一位职业摔角手！
1979年，Benoit得到第一套举重器械,那是成为一位职业摔角选手的第一步，他深深知道，要在擂台上取得成功，他就得有一副能给人留下深刻印象的体格，就像他的新偶像－－DynamiteKid。Chris和他朋友开始练习器械，但短期的锻炼效果不明显，他们很快就放弃了。然而，Chris并没有放弃，他已经坚定了目标。他知道，锻炼必须长期坚持才会有效果。
除了坚持严格的健身训练外，Benoit在每个周末都参与了摔角直播比赛工作。不久之后，他就开始被工作人员熟络了。他甚至被叫去帮忙搭建擂台，这也大大帮助了他的摔角事业。终于他当上了摔角手，不久之后，他就开始和摔角手一起训练了。

但到了最后，Benoit在一场面具比赛【就是输了要脱掉面具的比赛】中输了，他不得不脱下面具，而脱下面具后也给他带来不安，他不想放弃他那标志性的面具和他用汗水辛辛苦苦换来观众认可的角色。然而，他泰然面对了事实，塑造一个新的人物，新的名字－－The WildPegasus来参加摔角比赛。刚开始，Benoit对没有戴面具来参加摔角比赛而感到很不适应，但过了不久，The WildPegasus就取得了巨大的成功，他最终在1994年的4月赢得了最着名的J Cup。
尽管在日本Benoit取得了巨大的成功和赢得人们的尊敬，但他还是接受来自位于美国费城的ECW的Paul Heyman的邀请。巧合的是，Benoit并不是唯一一位从日本到ECW打比赛的选手。在同一时间还有另外两位摔角选手离开日本去了ECW。而另外两位就是Eddie Guerrero和Dean Malenko。而正是这一次跳槽也使这三个人成为了好朋友！【作者注：最后三个人同时跳槽到WCW，并再次一起跳槽到WWE】

在WCW的工作期间，Benoit开始被美国北部的观众所认识。在WCW取得胜利并不是件困难的事。事实上，在他加入不久，就得到了很多高级别的比赛，尽管他获得了很多比赛的胜利，但在角色发展方面却落后了，而这方面对于北美的观众来讲是很重要的。在一场对抗Sabu的比赛中，Benoit在把对手甩到擂台的时候，对方头先着地，脖子受伤，从那时起，Benoit就被人们称为"The Crippler"，这个外号直到今天还广泛流传。Crippler这个角色的创造归功于Paul Heyman，在Benoit与Sabu的比赛结束后，Heyman告诉Benoit有个关于"The Crippler"的概念－－一个赤手空拳就能折断对手的人！

到了1995年，签证问题阻扰了Chris Benoit继续他在ECW的摔角生涯。那时的Benoit想过回到日本。然而，就在他准备收拾行李离开时，他却收到了WWE邀请他参加三场试用比赛。而这三场比赛的对手分别是：Adam Bomb，Bob Holly和Owen Hart。Benoit给WWE留下了深刻的印象，以至于他们想要快点让Benoit加入到WWE。这条消息是当时的Benoit最想听到的，但他也希望能够同时在日本打摔角。这个请求被WWE拒绝了！
就在跟WWE谈判失败后，WCW和New Japan就拟订了一份两个团体可以互换摔角手的和约而不久后Benoit就选择加入了WCW。
Benoit和WCW之间的矛盾几乎在他刚加入的时候就开始了。公司不允许Christ参加New Japan的比赛,尽管这是他当初选择加入的主因。另外，他觉得公司剧情创作方向出错。使Benoit感到挫折的例子有：当他被邀请加入传奇团体FourHorsemen【四骑士】, 当他荣幸地得到可以和Ric Flair，Arn Anderson平起平坐的荣誉的时候，结果这个刚重组的团体（Four Horsemen）却马上不受公司重用。这让Christ对公司的想法感到迷茫。
Benoit终于忍受不了太多的挫折，更重要的是他对每一天的工作已失去了动力。最后，Benoit告诉WCW的经理，他对他现在在WCW的地位感到不满意，而且很不开心。听到Benoit的诉苦后，经理马上为他安排一场跟Sid Vicious争夺世界重量级冠军的比赛，希望以此能够安抚Benoit。虽然Benoit在那场比赛击败了Sid Vicious夺了世界重量级冠军的头衔，但是他已经决定是应该跟WCW有个了断的时候了，仅仅两个星期后，Benoit就跟他的老朋友，以及在WCW的同事Malenko，Guerrero 和 Perry Saturn一起出现在WWE的RAW节目上！

Benoit在WrestleMania的成功造成了多米诺效应，很快，他便参与WWE主要剧情，而且还经常被安排参加冠军腰带争夺赛。他最终夺得过两次洲际冠军（击败了Jericho和Billy Gunn），还有跟Y2J在2001年夺得过世界双打冠军的头衔，跟Kurt Angle在2002年夺得过WWE双打冠军。
Benoit和Kurt Angle夺得的这个WWE双打冠军头衔对他来说具有重要意义，因为这个是他【The Rabid Wolverine】由于颈严重受伤休息一年后复出的第一个冠军。

赢得Royal Rumble胜利的Benoit那时还是属于SmackDown! 然而，他利用了合同上的漏洞，选择跳槽到周一晚的RAW节目，他选择在WrestleMania上一争世界重量级冠军，而非SmackDown!方面的WWE冠军金腰带。

Chris Benoit浅谈新生代、ECW的2007、从WCW，TNA跳槽、Samoa Joe、WWE的发展等。

事业：

“我的梦想从为Stu Hart①创立的Stamede Wrestling②摔角开始渐渐实现，之后更是锦上添花，在日本摔角，赢得IWGP Junior Heavyweight title(1990年），见到Dynamite Kid、Tigher Mask，进入ECW，进入WCW。赢得冠军。来到WWE，赢得世界重量级冠军。

ECW 2007：

“我并没有很关注，但是许多摔迷认为它的质量在不断下滑。有些事是回不去的。就像我回到日本时希望一切和从前一样。可社会在变化，摔迷想看到新鲜、不一样的东西，虽然它（ECW）仍然有为鲜血狂热的、忠实的硬核追随者，但是绝大部分观众的需求和以前不同了，所以要吐旧纳新。

TNA：

“我只是偶尔看看。我想说的是，有这么一回，TNA停播，因为那天要播放“Dog Show”。可是事先没有通知，那场“Dog Show”还长达两个小时，于是我的脸都白了，不敢相信我看到的怎么会是“Dog Show”。于是我们就坐在那，大家挠着头，你看我我看你……TNA非常优秀，但是对自己的方向却不明确。

看待Samoa Joe：

“他非常出色，从我看到的和听到的一切来看，他都非常棒，我很喜欢和他摔角。我是Samoa Joe、AJ Styles、Christian Cage的超级支持者。而且我非常期待Joe能加入WWE。”

新生代的发展：

“OVW和Deep South训练出的新人身上都有个问题，他们被训练，登上电视磨练，然后被期待能创造价值。从前，Vince可以从20余个地区选择他看中的人材。可是现在，这种体系已经不再存在。所以新人要选被训练一到两年，然后开始盼望能登上擂台成为巨星。这是十分耗费成本的。所以新人的发展也比较困难。”

为什么现在WWE要让新生代选手了解WWE的历史？

“有位名叫Linda Miles的选手（之前是Smackdown Diva，名为Shaniqua③），现在在OVW，她甚至不知道Ander the Giant④是谁。”

新生代的无法无天：

“我并不把他们当做行业的耻辱。当他们开始展现自己的时候，我想他们会明白不应该这样。一开始，也许这是个吸引人的好方法，但是渐渐的，他们会明白这并不是正确的态度，不是正确的发展方向。”

现如今入行很容易：

“我希望入行的选手觉得他们‘像Benoit那样入行’。心态是重点，有热情做某件事，就去做。无论你相信与否，许多已经进入这个发展的行业体系的人，观看以往的比赛录相时会问：“Rick Rude退役了吗？”他们不了解这个行业的历史。有些人入行的经历很简单，因为表面上看起来十分出色，所以有人会问：“你看起来很不错，想不想有机会成为摔角手？”于是他就成为了摔角手，但这并不基于他对摔角的喜爱。

WWE的明日之星：

“Ken Kennedy，MVP，他们都将成为WWE未来的巨星。还有Lashley。”

WCW的传言：

“WCW曾拥有大量出色的选手和经费，但是花钱如流水，永无节制。太愚蠢了。现在回想起来，那是一段很不错的学习经历。至少让我学到了：不要做什么，和如何运营。那时候，WCW有很多败类，所以我们选择离开。虽然我刚刚夺得世界重量级冠军，但是它对我来说一文不值，因为我当时只想尽快离开那个鬼地方。”

离开WCW：

“准备离开WCW时，我甚至打算回日本了。但是心里却并不感到担忧或恐惧。我要以离开的姿态以表示我对WCW的不满。本来我们有18个人要解约，可是当真的要面对管理层去解决这件事的时候，只剩下12个人。而真正走进去面对面谈判的只有5个人。我，Dean，Eddie，Perry和Shane Douglas。最后商议去留问题的只剩4个。我们坚强镇定的面对，因为我们实在太想离开了。后来我们离开办公楼，上了车，大家达成一致，一定不会反悔，一定不会再回到WCW。所以直到我们遇到新的机会，我们一直都坚守在一起。而机会降临后，就由我们自己决定了。”

MMA：

“我有时间就会看。是忠实观众。MMA非常的专业，有体育竞技的精髓。”

关于WWE名人堂

“我希望Allen Coage能进入名人堂，Bad News Allen⑤。”

很多人都以為佢全家死跴 其實佢仲有個仔同個女 同埋大家唔好亂講Benoit殺佢妻小再自殺 警方初步相信應該係吸入有毒氣體致死 因為佢地身上冇刀傷或槍傷 要進一步調查先知 我係由第二個論壇睇返泥
