5 Centimeters Per Second: a chain of short stories about their distance (秒速５センチメートルアチェインオブショートストリーズアバウトゼアディスタンス, Byōsoku Go Senchimētoru a chein obu shōto sutorīzu abauto zea disutansu?),is a 2007 Japanese animated feature film by Makoto Shinkai. The filmwas finished on 22 January 2007.[2] The first part of the film wasdebuted on Yahoo! Japan as streaming video to Yahoo! Premium membersfrom 16 February to 19 February 2007.[3] On 3 March 2007, the fulllength featured film had its theatrical premiere at Cinema Rise inShibuya, Tokyo.[4] The film consists of three segments: Cherry Blossom (桜花抄, Ōkashō?), Cosmonaut (コスモナウト, Kosumonauto?), and 5 Centimeters per Second (秒速5センチメートル, Byōsoku 5 Senchimētoru?),totaling about an hour of runtime. As in Shinkai's previous works,Tenmoncomposes for this film's soundtrack. The DVD was released on 19July2007. A novel of 5 Centimeters Per Second is sold on the Japanesemarket[5] which includes stories that are not featured in the anime.

The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (時をかける少女, Toki o Kakeru Shōjo?)is a 2006 Japanese animated science fiction film. The film focuses on ahigh school girl who inadvertently gains the power to travel throughtime and begins using it frivolously to fix problems. It was producedby the animation studio Madhouse and directed by Mamoru Hosoda. It isinspired by, and is a pseudo-sequel to, the 1976 novel Toki o KakeruShōjo by Yasutaka Tsutsui.
Critical response to The Girl Who Leapt Through Time was very positive,and it won numerous awards, including the Japan Academy Prize forAnimation of the Year.
