Manchester United Manager Sir Alex Ferguson Hopes To Agree Signing Of Aalesund Goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard Within Three Weeks
Nov 23, 2010 4:58:00 PM
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that he hopes to conclude the signing of Danish goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard within "the next two or three weeks".
"It is not completed at the moment but there has not been a hiccup either," Ferguson told reporters.
"It will probably happen in the next two or three weeks, but the announcement was a bit premature."
Representatives from Lindegaard's Norwegian club were in Manchester last week to speak to Manchester United officials, and spoke positively about the chances of a move for the 26-year-old.
However, the keeper came under scrutiny last week from Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel, who claimed that Lindegaard was not good enough to be Old Trafford's number one.
But Ferguson seems to be pushing on with the move, regardless of the the criticisms from the man with whom he held up the European Cup in 1999.
