Rob Van Dam vs. Immortal's Mystery Opponent Matt Hardy

RVD is shocked by this turn of events. Hardy wants to shake hands, and says he is not his brother. Rights by Hardy and we are underway. Boot, off the ropes and a boot by Hardy. Sleeper into a drop down, and Hardy jogs around the ring and is pleased with himself. RVD pops up and kicks him in the fans, poses, and lays the boots to Hardy. Shoulder blocks in the corner, springboard kick by RVD connects. Kick to Hardy in the corner, and Hardy is down. Forearms by RVD, sends Hardy to the apron and then kicks him to the floor. Baseball slide dropkick by RVD, and then the moonsault to the floor wipes out Hardy. Back into the ring they go, RVD up top and hits the big cross body for 2. Rights by Hardy, twist of hate try countered, and Hardy slams RVD head first into the corner. Clothesline by Hardy, and then plants RVD with the bulldog for 2. Full nelson by Hardy, RVD fights to his feet, kicks Hardy, escapes and then knees by Hardy. Skull Crushing Finale by Hardy gets 2. Hardy mocks RVD, elbows follow. A neck breaker follows. Second rope goes Hardy, leaps in and eats a sidekick by RVD. They trade rights, Hardy back in control and covers for 2. Elbow drop by Hardy gets 2. Hardy now chokes RVD in the ropes, and then charges in with the leg and RVD is down, cover for 2. Hardy works a sleeper on the mat, RVD tries to fight to his feet, does, elbows connect. Kick by RVD, roll up body scissors style for 2 by RVD. Both men try to get to their feet, rights by RVD. Off the ropes and a clothesline by RVD. Another. Sidekick connects. And another one drops Hardy. Rights follow, dropkick by RVD and a cover for 2. Small package by RVD for 2. Atomic drop by RVD, up top and flies in with the kick to Hardy's face. Rolling thunder connects. Up top…FROG SPLASH CONNECTS! RVD covers, 1…2…but Hardy's hand is under the ropes. RVD kicks away at Hardy, the ref separates them, boot by Hardy, twist of hate. 1…2..3. Hardy's foot was under the ropes, but the ref did not see it.

Mr. Anderson becomes new World Champion at Genesis !

- Kazarian defeated Jay Lethal to become the new X Division Champion
- Madison Rayne defeated Mickie James to retain the Knockouts Championship, after interference by Tara
- Beer Money defeated The Motor City Machine Guns to become the new Tag Team Champions
- Bully Ray won the Street Fight vs. Brother Devon after the referee disqualified Brother Devon for beating Bully Ray with a chain
- Abyss (subbing for an injured AJ Styles) defeated Douglas Williams to become the new TV Champion. An injured AJ interfered in the bout, hitting Williams with the title and costing him the bout.



- Immortal's Mystery Opponent for Rob Van Dam was none other than Matt Hardy, who made his TNA debut and defeated RVD, thanks to a controversial decision by referee Jackson James
- The MMA Exhibition between Jeff Jarrett and Kurt Angle was thrown out after Jarrett got disqualified. After the bout, Jarrett bloodied Angle and injured him
- Mr. Anderson defeated Matt Morgan to become the #1 contender to the World Championship
- After the bout, Eric Bischoff announced an exhausted Anderson would get his title shot immediately against Jeff Hardy! The bout saw interference by Matt Morgan, Mick Foley, Ric Flair, Matt Hardy and RVD! HOWEVER, in a shocking upset, Anderson beat Hardy to win the TNA World Heavyweight Championship!
