In vocal cantonese,  a single english word can lead to numbers of different chinese words.
So in 2kf many of the threads only people that born and raised in HK can understand and it would be very hard for a foreigner to understand it by google translator
  
But if you truly wanna to learn Chinese,  you better start it from learning proper written chinese first (like mainland China or Taiwan), it would be easier and making more sense, when you translate it to english, in terms of the structure of sentence.
Then if you are still interesting in HK style Cantonese in the future, all of us would still welcome you.
