Valencia, Lyon and Genoa in tug of war for Bologna's Miguel Britos - report
The Uruguayan defender is highly sought after, but the Italian club have stated they will not sell for less than €12 million
Bologna defender Miguel Britos is in demand with Valencia, Genoa and Lyon all reportedly battling it out for his signature.
The Uruguayan joined Bologna from Montevideo Wanderers in 2008, but it appears his time at the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara may be coming to an end.
La Gazzetta dello Sport have reported that Valencia want the 25-year-old for the 2011-12 season, and value the player at €8-10 million. However, club president Albano Guaraldi is reluctant to part company with the player for less than €12m.
Unai Emery's side may face a battle to sign the centre half though, as Leggo reports that Genoa have the upper hand, as the player wants to stay in Italy. The Serie A side have been proactive in strengthening their squad, with the signatures of Andreas Granqvist and Alexander Merkel already confirmed this summer.
The Italian newspaper also claims that Lyon are ready to enter the race, and see him as a replacement for Pape Diakhate, who spent the season on loan from Dynamo Kiev but is returning to the Ukraine in the coming weeks.

Valencia Interested In Cristián Zapata
Valencia could be weighing up a move for the Colombian defender.
According to today’s reports on Canal 9, Valencia have contacted Udinese, signalling their interest in signing their central defender, Cristián Zapata. Valencia, who have made it clear that they intend to sign a new defender, with David Navarro close to signing for Swiss side Neuchatel, have asked about the Colombian’s current situation.
The Italian club responded by slapping a €15m price tag on the Colombian, but Valencia are willing to open negotiations with Udinese.
Cristián Zapata, who is 24 years old, signed for Udinese in 2005 from Deportivo Cali. He has been an outstanding performer in Serie A and hass 15 caps for his national side.

Navarro Has Swiss Offer
His agent wants to meet with Llorente to close the deal that will move Navarro to Neuchâtel.
The centre back is currently not included in Unai Emery’s plans and has been offered by Swiss side Neuchatel the chance to play for them for the next 3 years. At the moment, there is not agreement between Valencia and Neuchatel but both sides are eager to see the move sealed.
SuperDeporte says that the player’s agent, Josep María Orobitg, has confirmed the existence of negotiations between the two clubs, but no significant developments are expected right now, Orbitig is not ruling out a meeting with the Llorente to discuss the deal.
Navarro wants to remain at Valencia to fullfil the remaining year in his contract, however an offer from the Swiss club would be economically attractive. Neuchatel has also been linked with names such as Heinze and Grégory Coupet. |
