"Love Never Felt So Good" is a song written by American recording artist Michael Jackson and Canadian singer-songwriter Paul Anka. First recorded as a demo in 1983, the single was released posthumously in May 2014. The first released version of the song was recorded by Johnny Mathis for his 1984 album, Special Part of Me with new lyrics by Anka and Kathleen Wakefield.[3] Two reworked versions of Jackson's 1983 version, produced by American record producers Timbaland, Jerome "J-Roc" Harmon, John McClain and Dutch record producer Giorgio Tuinfort, form the first single released from Jackson's second posthumous album, Xscape. It is the second collaboration between Jackson and Anka to be released since Jackson's 2009 death (the first being "This Is It"). Timbaland also paid homage to Jackson's 1979 song "Workin' Day and Night" by sampling percussion and breaths from the track.
