Fernando Morientes has insisted Liverpool players will not run off to taunt the travelling Manchester United fans should The Reds get the better of their arch rivals in Saturday's FA Cup clash.
The two fierce competitors face each other in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Saturday, less than a month after United grabbed a last-gasp winner in the Premiership meeting at Old Trafford.
United's Gary Neville is facing disciplinary proceedings for the way he celebrated Rio Ferdinand's late winner by charging up to the travelling Liverpool support.
Neville's actions have added yet more spice to the tie, if any was needed, and there will be sparks flying when the two go head-to-head on Saturday.
Spanish striker Morientes is looking forward to the occasion, but insisted the Liverpool players will not seek revenge on Neville by celebrating in a similar fashion directed at the away fans.
"I firmly believe no-one on the Liverpool team would have celebrated like Neville did," said Morientes.
"If I score on Saturday, or any of the other Liverpool players score, we won't run to the United fans. For certain we will celebrate with our own supporters.
"Every player should have the freedom of right to celebrate how they choose, but Neville's goal celebration caused a lot of controversy last time.
"But the match was very tense and there was a great deal of nerves at that moment."
