據體育生活消息：剛剛當選為英格蘭職業球員聯合會年度球員的利物浦球星謝拉特表達了對於朗尼未來取得成功的期待，他相信朗尼必然會在未來某天獲得自己剛剛得到的榮譽。


利物浦隊長在2006評選中票數領先阿仙奴射手亨利、曼聯朗尼、車路士喬‧科爾、林柏特和去年該獎項得主特裡。雖然朗尼今年隻有20歲，但年紀輕輕下已經是第二次被列為提名人選。

謝拉特在2001年時曾當選過這一榮譽，這位25歲的英格蘭中場國腳相信朗尼獲此榮譽隻是時間問題，「他是一個超出想像的天纔，我相信他不久後就能占據我所取得的這一榮譽。」謝拉特表示他認為朗尼和亨利都是英超最出色的球員。

謝拉特在去年該項票選中排名第3位，其今年支持率大幅上揚的根本原因在於率領利物浦獲得了上賽季冠軍杯冠軍。本賽季利物浦的表現同樣非常出色，在聯賽中排名有所提升，更在剛剛結束的足總杯半決賽中淘汰了車路士。

香港時間4月24日，英超第36輪的比賽繼續進行。紐卡素的傳奇球星舒利亞雖然因膝傷提前結束自己的足球生涯，不過主場作戰的紐卡素還是以憑借蘇蘭奴的一粒進球以及阿梅奧比的梅開二度取勝對手。

做出了不少精彩的撲救，這樣使得辛特蘭與樸茨茅斯的比賽沒有過早的失去懸念。最終「黑貓」還是實力不濟，以2-1輸給了樸茨茅斯，不過這也成就了占美D.卡斯迪度斯繼上周之後繼續留在這份榜單上。

後衛：M‧泰萊（樸茨茅斯）

樸茨茅斯在取得對辛特蘭隊的勝利之後，以2分的優勢暫時脫離的降級區，這也要感謝後衛泰萊在全場的穩健防守和在最後時刻的點球建功。第87分鐘，泰萊的射門被擋出底線，泰萊左側開出角球，凱文-基利手球犯規，樸茨茅斯贏得點球，泰萊一蹴而就。這也讓費頓公園球場成為了一個歡樂的海洋。

丹尼‧加比頓（韋斯咸）

加比頓繼續他在西漢姆的精彩表現，而且幫助韋斯咸26年來首次進入足總杯的決賽。

傑米‧加歷查（利物浦）加歷查是紅軍後防線上的核心球員，也正是這條後方線最終保證了利物浦以2-1擊敗了強大的車路士，自2001年後再次成功晉級足總杯決賽。

中場：卡裡克（托馬菲杜拿姆熱刺）

熱刺圍繞堅尼的戰術體繫中，卡裡克在場上的位置一個是一個爭議的焦點。但是他依然在前場有令人眼花繚亂的表演。在上半場將要結束的時候，卡裡克上演精彩個人秀，他接占美D.卡斯迪度斯的傳球後，連續晃過3名阿仙奴球員，隨後又晃過列文，隻可惜隨後的左腳小角度射門打在邊網上，相信這也給前來觀戰的國家隊的高層留下深刻的影響。

列儂（托馬菲杜拿姆熱刺）

這位熱刺的年輕中場和卡裡克一起，讓熱刺的中場有聲有色。他的記過奴纔表現也世他有可能可以進入今年即將出爐的世界杯大名單。

祖利奧里昂‧奧士文（埃弗頓）雖然埃弗頓與伯明翰的比賽的苦戰無法取得進球，0-0的比分也最終保持到了終場。不過奧士文在中場的表現還是給人留下了深刻的印像，他就像海上升起的煙火一樣耀眼。

蘇蘭奴（紐卡素）

在阿蘭‧舒利亞因傷缺席本賽季紐卡素剩餘的比賽，蘇蘭奴很好的接過了這位老將手上的指揮棒，繼上場取勝辛特蘭之後，這場又以3-0戰勝了西布朗維奇。在這場比賽中也以一粒進球證明了自己的實力。

前鋒：阿梅奧比（紐卡素）

紐卡傳奇巨星阿蘭‧舒利亞因膝傷不得不提前結束了自己的足球生涯，不過阿梅奧比則很好的接過了舒利亞的槍。梅開二度的他也許是下賽季取代舒利亞位置的最好人選。

杜多洛夫（樸茨茅斯）

托多羅夫下半場的關鍵時刻的進球，振奮了全隊的士氣。最終在全隊的努力下戰勝對手，取得關鍵的積分。樸茨茅斯暫時脫離了降級區也有他的功勞。

凱文‧占美D.卡斯迪度斯(博爾頓）

在博爾頓4-1戰勝查爾頓的比賽中，博爾頓隊前鋒占美D.卡斯迪度斯的兩粒進球是球隊大勝的基石。

主教練：貝尼特斯（利物浦）

利物浦隊的主帥是這周的最佳主教練，他在與車路士隊的比賽中的用兵值得稱道。在與穆裡尼奧的對話中取得了上風。

足總杯決賽將會更換球證，韋利代替原本的甸尼將會於該場比賽執法。

足總發表聲明，甸尼各項執法水平都十分高，但由於利物浦打入決賽，而甸尼也是居住於鄰近地方，為免甸尼承受過大壓力，因此將球證更換。

比賽將會在五月十三日於卡迪夫千禧球場上演，由利物浦對來自倫敦的韋斯咸。

　　這樣一來，紅軍便將在5月13日前往加的夫的千禧球場與韋斯咸爭奪本賽季足總杯的桂冠(後者1比0戰勝米堡晉級)，而且很有希望實現“杯賽雙冠”───利物浦U18青年隊已經在不久前結束的青年足總杯兩回合決賽中以3比2的總比分戰勝了曼城。謝拉特賽後表示：“我們第一個在千禧球場捧起了足總杯(2001年)，很榮幸能有機會再成為最後一支在那里捧杯的球隊。”

　　另一方面，在謝拉特看來，上周六的勝利再次證明，利物浦在本尼蒂斯的調教下已有實力與車路士、曼聯和阿仙奴這三家英超豪門平起平坐。而面對過去一周有關“皇馬覬覦謝拉特”的媒體炒作，紅軍隊長只是付之一笑：“我很高興能夠留在利物浦，我可不想再像前兩次那樣度過夏天了。我會一直留在這裡，直到有人告訴我已經不再需要我了。”

Steven Gerrard is expecting Liverpool to play their part in a much more exciting race for the Premiership title next season.  
The Liverpool skipper, who was named the PFA Player of the Year at the weekend, is still basking in the glory of the Reds' semi-final victory over Chelsea at Old Trafford on Saturday.
  
The Reds will meet West Ham in the final on May 13 but Gerrard is already thinking ahead to next season when he's confident Rafa Benitez's side will continue their vast improvement and make a strong challenge for top spot in the league.
  
"We have progressed a lot in the last year," he said. "The gap was 35 points last season, this time around we are better than half that.
  
"We have got a fantastic manager who is going to continue to build. But Chelsea are a fantastic team. Manchester United and Arsenal are going to come back strong next year too.
  
"Tottenham have a great young side as well. The Premiership is getting more and more exciting."
  
Meanwhile, the Liverpool skipper has again stressed his commitment to the Reds following recent speculation that he could again be at the centre of more transfer rumours this summer.
  
He said: "I have come to terms that if you are playing for Liverpool and playing well, then other top teams are going to show interest in you.
  
"I am really happy and settled, and I am focused on finishing the season strong for Liverpool, then going and having a good World Cup."

Sami Hyypia has warned his Liverpool team-mates to guard against complacency after knocking Chelsea out of the FA Cup.  
The Reds are now overwhelming favourites to go on and lift the Cup after Luis Garcia's goal sent Jose Mourinho's men crashing out of the competition, but Hyypia is keen to stress there is still much work to be done in Cardiff before Liverpool can think about celebrating their seventh FA Cup triumph.
  
He said: "We're delighted to get there but we haven't won it yet, we still have 90 minutes to play if we want to win the trophy.
  
"We're not taking the final lightly, that's for sure. We have to concentrate in the game, just like we did in the semi-final. It will be tough and you have to be at your best to win in a Final.
  
"It's very important for this club to win a trophy every season and we have to do everything we can to lift the Cup again.
  
"I have good and bad memories of Cardiff and I know which I prefer! We have been there many times and hopefully after this final I will more happy memories."

Spanish playmaker Xabi Alonso believes Liverpool's FA Cup semi-final win over Chelsea was another example of how much the team are continuing to improve under Rafael Benitez.  
Alonso described the victory over Chelsea as extra special and added the Liverpool players wanted the win so much.
  
"This season we have won a lot of games but struggled against the top teams so we wanted to show what we could do on Saturday," said Alonso.
  
"In key games in cups we've shown we can beat Chelsea by playing good football and it's extra special to beat them in such an important game. It shows we're getting there and that we're improving.
  
"In the first half we kept possession better than them and created the better chances. We should have scored more than one goal.
  
"When we got the second goal in the second half we were in a good position but we knew if they scored one goal it would be a big boost for them. That happened and they put a lot of pressure on us but we held on.
  
"We know we will be favourites in the final because of our position in the league, but it will be tough.
  
"Our recent performances should give us confidence and we want to carry on from here. We want to start challenging for the title soon and that has to be our target next season."

Liverpool Reserve team coach Hughie McAuley admitted he was very disappointed with his side's display in their 3-0 defeat at Aston Villa.  
McAuley felt Liverpool contributed to their own downfall and they gave away three bad goals. Goalkeeper David Martin didn't have the best of nights and the Reds were 3-0 down at half-time. They gave a spirited display in the second half but it was too little too late for the Reds second string.
  
"We made three poor errors on our part and at any level you can't expect to make those kind of mistakes and take anything from the game," a disappointed McAuley told Liverpoolfc.tv.
  
"We were very disappointing in the first half and we just didn't defend well and paid the price for it.
  
"We were better in the second half but by then the damage had been done."
