Liverpool Football Club will release a brand new re-working of the legendary Johnny Cash classic 'Ring of Fire' as their official song for the FA Cup final with all proceeds being donated to charity.  
Originally penned by June Carter and Merie Kilgour, the song reached No.1 in the Country Charts when recorded by Cash in 1963 and now Liverpool Football Club are hoping to score a number one of their own when the new version is released next week.
  
Performed by 'The Boot Room All-Stars' - Tim Speed and Apollo 440 - and featuring the distinctive vocals of Echo and the Bunnymen frontman Ian McCulloch, the song will be available as a download only on liverpoolfc.tv. The single will first be available to download during the week of the FA Cup final.
  
All proceeds from the sales of the download will go to the Marina Dalglish Appeal, an organisation set up by Marina and Kenny Dalglish to raise money for a new Oncology ward at University Hospital Aintree.
  
'Ring of Fire' Trivia: Did you know?
  

Johnny Cash's version of 'Ring of Fire' was first adopted by Liverpool supporters travelling to away matches as long ago as 2002 but grew in popularity as the Reds trailed a blaze through Europe on route to last season's Champions League final in Istanbul.
  

The song was played in the Liverpool players dressing room in the Atatürk stadium in Istanbul before the Champions League final against AC Milan in May 2005 and after winning the game on penalties, Jamie Carragher and Steven Gerrard were caught singing the song's tune 'Der-der-der-der-der-der-der-derrrrrr' live on TV.
  

Ian McCulloch is a lifelong Liverpool supporter and Main Stand season ticket holder. He first started visiting Anfield as a young boy and his first hero was 'Sir' Roger Hunt.
  

The Boot Room All-Stars' version of 'Ring of Fire' contains backing vocals from the travelling Liverpool supporters at Old Trafford during the FA Cup Semi-Final victory over Chelsea and also the Kop during the final Premiership game of the season at Anfield against Aston Villa.
  

'Ring of Fire' was played by the English cricket team in the dressing room on the final day of the 3rd Test match against India on 22 March 2006. Inspired by the effect it had on the Liverpool players, England came out and took seven wickets for 25 runs in the space of 89 balls to complete their first victory on Indian soil for 21 years.
  

The Boot Room All-Stars featuring Ian McCulloch are not the first group to cover 'Ring of Fire'. Past cover versions of the track have been performed by Frank Zappa, Ray Charles, Grace Jones, Coldplay and Joaquin Phoenix.

Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez has today confirmed Robbie Fowler will sign a new one year contract at Anfield.  

Fowler will put pen to paper on the deal next week after impressing since his arrival from Manchester City in January.
  
Benitez said: "This is fantastic news. Robbie has done really well and he deserves this.
  
"He has scored some vital goals for us and he has worked really hard. I am delighted to have him with us for next season. He is an important member of our squad."

在紅軍落實跟科拿續約一年後，科拿喜上眉稍的接受訪問。

今天賓尼迪斯確認，科拿自一月從曼城轉會以來表現出色，而下星期科拿會動筆跟球會續約。

科拿自回歸後在１５場比賽當中射入了４球。而科拿希望在未來的１２個月內能夠在晏菲路射入更多漂亮的入球。

科拿說：「現在還未正式續約，但當我得知領隊決定跟我續約一年後我的心情是多麼興奮。我不懂得用言語表達我這刻的心情，這個時刻我真的己望穿秋水了。」

「在一月時我得到一份為期六個月的合約，當時領隊造訴我季尾時他會評估跟我續約的可行性。經過一輪觀察後，謝天謝地我得到了一個夢昧以求的答覆。」

「我滿意自己這一陣子的表現，而領隊也認同我的努力。我現在會放眼在未來的一年。到過去６個月裏我的心情真的如坐針顫，所以你可以想像到現在的我是何等快慰。」

「本季還有兩場賽事，只是對於來季的比賽我實在急不及待，我想立即向下季進發。我對於自己不能參與下星期的足總杯決賽感到不是味兒，但我還是相信隊友們必定可以凱旋而歸。」

科拿十份感謝球迷們對他回歸的熱烈歡迎和支持，而現在他很希望自己的名字能夠在晏菲路清史留名。

「魯殊的入球紀錄真的高不可攀，我能夠做的就是盡力追近他。」

「我每次落場都當那就是我最後一次為利物浦上陣的比賽，但現在我知道自己下季還有很多機會能穿上這件紅色戰衣在綠茵場上奔馳。」

「球隊正向著目標進發。跟上季比較我們在聯賽榜上的進步是顯而易見的，希望下季我們能夠更進一步。我真的很想以利物浦球員的身份去高擧那英超奬杯，而我相信領隊正帶領球隊走上一條正確的路。」

麥亞里士打今天解釋為何他捥佢了賓尼迪斯給他的預備組領隊一職的要請。

這位前利物浦球星跟賓尼迪斯和主席貝利會面並相談他代替艾箂拉(Paco Herrera)的可能性。艾箂拉將會在這個夏季後離開晏菲路。

「我之前從沒有跟賓尼迪斯認真會面過，他 給 我的印像很深刻。」

２００１年麥亞里士打幫助紅軍勇奪三冠後，他的名字便成為了利物浦其中一個傳奇。

他承認利物浦永遠是他心目中最愛的球會，而他也感謝支持者在他喪妻後給他的鼓勵。

「我在利物浦不過短短的兩年，但球迷對我卻是那麼的關心。」

「我很感謝他們對我的關心，他們和我共渡了最艱難的日子。」

「這裏的球員、教職員和球迷們都叫我畢生難忘。」

「有人告訴我過去幾場賽事在KOP看台上有人以我的名字作了首歌，我聽到後真的感動極了，我真的渴望回歸，現在有人 給 我這個機會真的使我很興奮。」

「我還是相信終有一日我可以回來的，我希望將來還會有人 給 我這個機會，只是現在實在不是適當的時候。」

Liverpool Football Club have been honoured for their work that challenges racism and promotes equality.

The award is based around a number of measures from stewarding to the signing of young players.

Lord Herman Ouseley, chair of Kick It Out, said: "Liverpool Football Club are to be congratulated.

"The club has a massive appeal to a broad range of communities across the country and the world.

"These communities and all those connected to the club will be heartened to see the club striving to ensure equality is at the heart of everything they do."

Naturally Reds chief executive Rick Parry was over the moon with the award.

He said "Liverpool Football Club is delighted with the award.

"This recognition from Kick It Out reinforces the commitment of the club to its supporters that racism and discrimination, in whatever form will not be tolerated in any are of the clubs wide ranging business activities.

"The club will continue to work closely within its local communities and schools as well as Kick It Out to ensure that the game of football can continue to use its power to unite people from different cultures and backgrounds."

Darra Singh OBE, a member of the awarding panel, said, "I want to congratulate Liverpool FC on its success in developing its racial equality practices.

"There has clearly been a lot of hard work put in and the club's commitment has really paid off.

"I wish everyone involved continued success in the future."

利物浦前鋒科拿下周將與球會續約一年。

該名30歲前鋒於1月從曼城以自由身加盟，簽訂的6個月合約將於季末完結。

「這是令人振奮的消息，羅比表現出色，他絕對值得得到這份新約。他替球隊射入不少關鍵入球，表現努力，我很高興他會留隊多一年，他是球隊重要一員。」

在1月加盟後科拿上陣15場，射入4球。

本周，英超利物浦隊的球迷獲得了一個好消息，前鋒羅比-科拿將在下個星期與俱樂部簽訂一份新的合同，這意味著，被球迷稱呼為“上帝”的科拿，終於明確了自己的未來，在下個賽季仍將留在利物浦隊效力。

　　科拿是在今年1月份的冬季轉會期間，以自由的身份加盟到利物浦隊里的，他與俱樂部的合同只有半年，到今年夏天到期，利物浦隊主教練賓尼迪斯當時就表示，科拿是否能續約，要看他這半個賽季里的表現如何，現在看來，科拿通過了考試。

　　在最近的七場比賽里，科拿一共為利物浦隊打進了四個進球，這樣的成績說服了賓尼迪斯，繼續與這位深受利物浦球迷喜愛的明星合作，在利物浦，球迷們管科拿叫做“上帝”，這是因為當年他在這裡的表現太出色了，完全征服了球迷的心，現在科拿能夠留下，一定會讓球迷們倍感欣喜。

　　在決定了留下科拿後，主教練賓尼迪斯表示，這名前鋒的艱苦努力得到了回報。他說：“這是一個非常好的消息，科拿做的非常好，他理應獲得這個(合同)。他為我們打進了一些很關鍵的進球，他自己也在訓練中非常非常的努力，態度很積極。我很高興，下個賽季還能有他和我們在一起，他是我們球隊里非常重要的一個成員。”

　　科拿本人非常希望留在利物浦效力，正是這種渴望給了他刻苦努力的動力，終於換來了回報。在利物浦的幾名前鋒里，科拿在球門前的感覺是很出色的，他給利物浦的鋒線帶來了一些不同的東西，這也是賓尼迪斯考慮留下他的原因。
