路透利物浦電---利物浦隊長杰拉德(謝拉特)表示，在周六與西漢姆聯隊(韋斯咸)的足總杯決賽結束前，他不會去想下個月的世界杯。


「如果腦子裡總裝著世界杯，我就沒法踢好球了，」這位25歲的中場說。在德國世界杯上，他將是英格蘭隊的核心人物。

「周末我將百分之百投入比賽，然後才會專心準備夏天的世界杯賽事。」

西漢姆歷史上曾三次奪得足總杯，但利物浦本季聯賽兩勝對手，他們希望完成第三場勝利。

但西漢姆也不是好惹的，他們重回英超第一個賽季表現出色，排名第九。

「西漢姆狀態不錯，也有一些出色的球員，他們在比賽中必將竭盡全力。所以我們不能掉以輕心，也得展現最佳實力。」(完)

香港時間5月13日22:00正英格蘭足總杯決賽將在約翰韋殊卡迪夫千禧球場，由英格蘭老排勁旅紅軍利物浦對陣本賽季英超新軍鐵錘幫韋斯咸，衛視體育、廣東體育、上海體育、香港寬頻NOW85、泰星40都將對本場比賽進行直播。

由於溫布利大球場即將完工，這是約翰韋殊的卡迪夫千禧球場最後一次舉辦足總杯決賽。

在英國足總杯並不像歐洲其他國家那樣型同雞肋，這項傳統的杯賽在二十年前甚至與聯賽冠軍的分量不相上下，強隊在比賽中是拼盡全力，因此含金量也相當高，能闖入最終決賽的都是實力不俗的隊伍。

利物浦在歷史上曾經六奪足總杯，而西漢姆也是三度舉杯，在聯賽結束的情況下，雙方都將拼盡全力為本賽季最後一項獎杯而努力。上一次利物浦捧起獎杯是霍利爾時代，那個賽季他們取得了五冠王的輝煌。而西漢姆上次奪冠還得追溯到1980年，那樣的記憶離我們太遠了。

本次決賽前還出現了一個小小的插曲，大約有1000多張決賽門票被盜，其中大部分屬於利物浦球迷，官方表示這批球迷作廢，並不會制作新的球票，所以屆時千年球場將會出現上千個空位。而利物浦方面對於此事唯一的應對方式就是將抽出球迷卡擁有者手中的選票做為補償，雖然這對很多抽中買票資格的球迷來說很不公平。

這樣的小花絮並不會影響比賽的正常進行，兩隊主教練現在真正頭疼的是雙方均有重要球員不能出場，紅軍這邊每每到關鍵時刻都有出色發揮的邊鋒加西亞將因為紅牌而錯過比賽，當然西漢姆那邊也有穆連斯之前染紅而無緣決賽，而中途回到利物浦的昔日巨型福勒也將因為之前已代表曼城參加過足總杯比賽而無法獲得出場比賽資格。另外，利物浦這邊的中場發動機愛斯賓奴阿隆索的傷勢也是撲朔迷離，能否出場還是個未知數，他自己倒是表示不願意錯過這樣重要的比賽。此外，利物浦內部也傳來了利好消息，此前一度鬧轉會傳聞的基維爾和施斯都出面表示了對利物浦的忠心，承認將履行完現有的合同，力爭拿下足總杯。

西漢姆的絕對主力阿什頓和埃瑟林頓均可能因為傷病而錯過決賽。如果阿什頓無法上場的話，也不會影響太大，因為老將舒寧咸將替其出戰，在這樣重要的比賽中經驗無疑是最寶貴的。而這也是這位足壇活化石在2000後第一次進入足總杯決賽。

在實力上來看， 利物浦的巨星們占據絕對優勢，加上賓尼迪斯的運籌帷幄，紅軍奪魁的呼聲很高。但是足球的魅力往往就在於此，大搗熱灶是常有的事，歷史上不乏以弱勝強的經典戰例。更何況鐵錘幫並非省油的燈，當年的鐵錘幫可謂叱 英足壇，裡奧費迪蘭德，林柏特，卡裡克，喬科爾以及簡洛迪等等都是從西漢姆出來的。良好的青訓繫統保證了本賽季他們的卷土重來，現在隊中加比頓，高基，海伍德，阿什頓和舒寧咸等人均是好手，既有青春的活力又不乏老到的經驗。再加上年輕人對冠軍的渴望，往往能迸發出超常的能量來，所以現在說紅軍奪冠為時尚早，讓我們拭目以待吧。

【明報專訊】韋斯咸和利物浦的足總盃決賽大戰，背後還有另一層意義。原來兩會均藉這一年一度的盛事為慈善組織籌款，回饋社會。


韋斯咸名將卜比摩亞逝世後，該會成立一個以他命名的癌症研究基金。早前該基金推出一款鞋帶模樣、配上英格蘭紅白二色的手繩。為了表示支持，韋斯咸左後衛高捷斯基將於決賽時戴上這手繩出賽，估計其他隊友都會響應，以示對基金的支持和對卜比摩亞的敬意。這條手繩亦已在英國發售，每條售價約為43港元（3鎊）。

利物浦同樣不甘後人。「紅軍」為慶祝打入決賽，特別灌錄了電影《弦途有你》主角Johnny Cash的金曲「Ring of Fire」，作為球隊的足總盃主題曲。除了會在卡迪夫千禧球場內播放外，球迷還可於決賽後到利物浦的官方網站，下載由Ian McCulloch主唱的版本，每次收費約21.5元（1.5鎊）。收入會捐予以利物浦名將杜格利殊的太太命名之基金，幫助乳癌病患者。

【明報專訊】假如今晚獲派上陣，韋斯咸前鋒舒寧咸將成為足總盃決賽歷來年紀第3最大的披甲球員。該名40歲老將賽前表示希望重溫1999年足總盃決賽後備入替，協助曼聯捧盃的美夢。


1999年曼聯決賽對紐卡素，開賽僅9分鐘舒寧咸便臨危受命入替傷出的堅尼，結果他入場僅2分鐘便先開紀錄，換邊後再助攻造就史高斯射成2﹕0奠定勝局。舒寧咸回憶該仗時指出﹕「當時我已33歲，並認為那是我最後一個踢足總盃決賽的機會，故我特別珍惜這個冠軍。」

享受足球更重要

事隔7年，舒寧咸指出現時比賽的心態已從爭霸雄心轉變為享受足球，他說﹕「我每天都享受操練，也希望今晚有幸再參與決賽並享受足球。我自小就支持韋斯咸，至今仍未忘懷韋斯咸於1975與80年勇奪足總盃的喜悅。故足總盃對我意義特別重大。」

Ahead of the FA Cup Final Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard speaks about his dream to lift another trophy for the club and why he won't be letting other distractions get in his way.  
Liverpoolfc.tv: You have some distractions before the cup final being a dad once again and the World Cup squad just announced as well?
  
Steven Gerrard: I think they are nice distractions though. I obviously managed to get into the squad and everything went smoothly with the delivery so my form's good and I'm looking forward to the cup final.
  
How difficult is it to stay focused on the cup final when you've got so much happening around you Steve?
  
It is difficult but it's such a big game and there's a lot at stake and I've got to make sure that I respect my team-mates and stay focused for this game, and make sure whatever else is going on around me I just try and forget about it.
  
How difficult is it to stop thoughts drifting to the World Cup, it's such a big tournament and everyone is tipping England to win it, but first of all you have the FA Cup Final to worry about?
  
Yeah it's nice that the squad has been announced and obviously it's out in the open now. I just need to get this game out of the way before I can to show all my attention to England. It's a massive game at the weekend and I'm just staying focused on that. I don't really want to talk about England until after the weekend. I've got a responsibility to perform well at the weekend and make sure that we deliver a trophy for the supporters.
  
As captain how important is it for you to do that?
  
It's a massive game. I think our league form has been a massive improvement on last season. I think when you play for a club this size there is a responsibility that you always put trophies in the cabinet at the end of the season, and the FA Cup is a massive competition. It's been a great ride this season and we want to go there and enjoy the occasion on Saturday. We all know it won't be as enjoyable if we don't win it.
  
Having spoken to both Jamie Carragher and Peter Crouch in the build up to this they see two trophies in two season's shows the progression that you are making, but then they are hoping it's a stepping stone to a title challenge next season. Is that how you see it as well?
  
Yeah I think that's the idea. At the beginning of the season we wanted to win a trophy but also get a lot closer to the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea this year in the league. I think we have managed to do that and we are improving all of the time. The team is getting stronger and the manager has gone on record as saying we are making more signings so we feel as if we win the FA Cup this year that will be a big boost for the start of next season. Then we can give everything we have got for a title challenge.
  
Would it be fair to say if you didn't win the FA Cup the season wouldn't be as much a success as it could have been?
  
Of course. We'll still be happy with our improvement in the league but we'll be really disappointed if we don't win the FA Cup.
  
To what extent do you see that the rest of the Liverpool squad are really aware of the importance of FA Cup and it's history?
  
All the players realise how important the game is on Saturday. I'd like to think we've got a gang of winners here at Liverpool and everyone wants their winners medals. It would be a nightmare going home from Cardiff if we haven't got that winners medal but I think we are in for a different game on Saturday than the two league games against West Ham. I think they were both comfortable victories but I think the game on Saturday will be a lot more difficult than that. For the West Ham players it's the biggest game of their lives so they are going to be up for that and give us a real good test.
  
What would you say are the real strengths of the West Ham team?
  
I think pace springs to mind straight away. If you look at Harewood, Etherington down the left and Benayoun is really clever and Dean Ashton is a finisher, so I think they've got a lot of strengths in their squad. They've got a good manager who will motivate them so we know West Ham are going to be really up for this game and it's going to be the game of their lives. So we've got to be ready and we've got to perform to our level or we could be in for a really tough game.
  
Have you any FA Cup memories as a supporter of the club?
  
I watched the one against Wimbledon on TV in 1988 when we lost 1-0 but I managed to go to one in 1989 when we beat Everton 3-2 at Wembley.
  
The fact that you've won trophies before how good an extent will that stand you in given the fact the relevant inexperience of the West Ham boys in comparison?
  
We hope that helps. There's a lot of experience in the squad and guys have played in World Cup finals and Champions League finals and have also been to Cardiff quite a few times, but I think that all goes out of the window once the whistle blows. We will be playing a West Ham team who are going to give it everything they have got and we've got to make sure we do exactly the same. Match them for effort and hopefully with the ability we've got we can win the cup.

Djibril Cisse heads into the FA Cup Final hoping to make it a treble of goals for the Reds in major finals having found the net for Liverpool in the Champions League Final and the Super Cup Final.  
The French striker scored a penalty in the dramatic-shoot out win over AC Milan in Istanbul then came off the bench to win Liverpool the Super Cup in Monaco with two goals against CSKA Moscow.
  
Cisse says he is very excited at the prospect of playing in the FA Cup Final and help Liverpool achieve more glory.
  
"I scored a penalty in the Champions League final and two goals in the Super Cup, so why can't Saturday be my hat-trick?" reasoned the Reds number nine.
  
"In France, we say never three without two, so why not? The FA Cup Final is a massive occasion for me. I missed the Carling Cup final because of my broken leg, so I am looking forward to the chance to play in this game. I was sat in the stands with Xabi Alonso and it was frustrating. I was there supporting my team-mates, but it wasn't easy.
  
"If I start I will be more than happy, but if not I just have to do my best to be ready when the chance comes.
  
"Playing on the wings is different. It can be good, especially if I am on the left when I can cut in and shoot with my right foot.
  
"But I am a striker and I am known to be a striker. The manager has different ideas and if he wants to play me on the right or the left, I have nothing to say. I just do what he wants.
  
"I guess it's good for me to play in different positions. It's a big game for me and I think it can be something good for me. I just want to win the FA Cup and be in the squad."

Peter Crouch has a dream he has carried since childhood of scoring a Roy of the Rovers style winner in the FA Cup Final and he is hoping that becomes a reality in Cardiff on Saturday.  
The England striker can't wait for the chance to play in the biggest showpiece game in England and is desperate to get his hands on a winners medal.
  
Liverpoolfc.tv: Peter have you thought about scoring the winner in the FA Cup Final, have you allowed yourself to dream about that?
  
Peter Crouch: Of course yeah. Growing up that's what I've always wanted to do and it's a massive tournament the FA Cup. To get here is an honour and we've got to finish off the job now and win it.
  
What's the build up been like this week as there's always much going on during cup final week?
  
There is but you don't want to let yourselves get carried away and we just want to carry on as normal really and do what we usually do in training and we'll be travelling like it's a normal away game. We will just try and do what we can and hopefully it will be enough to win us the game.
  
What about the mad scramble for tickets though. Have you had a lot of people asking you for tickets?
  
I didn't realise I had so many friends! Everyone's coming out of the woodwork asking for tickets but everyone wants to be part of the big occasion and we're all looking forward to it. My friends and family are looking forward to going and I'm sure it will be a good occasion.
  
It just shows you how important this cup competition is, not just to the club but to other people isn't it?
  
Yeah, of course. People have said in the past it has lost a bit of its magic but I know certainly to the group of players we've got here we are all desperate to win it. It's a fantastic competition and for me it's an honour to be involved in the final and I'm just looking forward to the game and hopefully winning it.
  
If you were to score the winning goal in the cup final it would send you to the World Cup in tremendous spirits wouldn't it?
  
Of course. I mean just to get to the FA Cup Final is great in itself but like I say we have to finish off the job, and if that means scoring then obviously that will be a great dream and a great end to the domestic season.
  
Have West Ham surprised you this season?
  
Yeah they have. Credit to them as often when you come up from the Championship you often find yourself in a struggle down the bottom but that's not been the case at all. Right from the word go they have attacked teams, scored goals and played well and it's a credit to the manager and a credit to themselves. By no means is this game a foregone conclusion We are expecting a tough game and I'm sure West Ham will take the game to us and hopefully that bodes for a good final.

Liverpool will be playing in their 13th FA Cup Final. Only Arsenal and Manchester United, with 17 each, have played in more though Newcastle have also appeared in 13.

This will be West Ham's fifth Final appearance - they have won three and lost one so far.
  
In Round Three Liverpool won 5-3 at Luton and in the process scored five away from home in the FA Cup for the first time since 1947.
  
Round Four saw them defeat Portsmouth 2-1 at Fratton Park and a Peter Crouch goal was enough to defeat Manchester United for the first time in the FA Cup since 1921 in Round Five at Anfield.
  
In Round Six Liverpool's 7-0 victory at Birmingham City was the club's biggest ever away FA Cup victory and the biggest by any away team at that stage of the Cup for 116 years.
  
The semi-final saw the Reds overcome Chelsea 2-1 to preserve their record of never having lost an FA Cup semi-final at Old Trafford.
  
The last Liverpool player to score a hat-trick in the competition was Stan Collymore whose three goal haul came against Rochdale in 1996.
  
Liverpool won the first FA Cup Final to be played at the Millennium Stadium. Could they be the last?
  
Of the team that won the Cup in 2001 only four men could be involved today - Sami Hyypia, Jamie Carragher, Dietmar Hamann and Steven Gerrard. The cup-tied Robbie Fowler also played in the win over Arsenal.
  
Hamann could appear in his third Final having played for Newcastle in 1999 before his move to Anfield.
  
Liverpool have seen nine different players score in this season's competition. They are:- Crouch 3, Riise 3, Alonso 2, Gerrard 2, Sinama-Pongolle 2, Cisse 1, Garcia 1, Hyypia 1, Morientes 1.
  
Rafa Benitez is hoping to become the fifth different foreign manager to lead a team to FA Cup success following Ruud Gullit in 1997, Arsene Wenger (1998,2002,2003,2005), Gianluca Vialli (2000) and Gerard Houllier in 2001.
  
A Reds victory will also enter Rafa into the record books as the first manager in the club's history to win a major trophy in each of his first two seasons in charge following last year's Champions League success.
