Michel Platini plans to make changes to the UEFA Champions League if he wins the race to become the next president of Europe's governing body.
The French legend is challenging current president Lennart Johannsson for the top job at Uefa and an area he is focusing on is the Champions League.
Platini is looking to limit the number of teams from each country to three, a move which would have an affect on English clubs who currently have four representatives.
"Four clubs are too many," said Platini. "For everybody - for the country itself, the fans and for the TV rights.
"Three should be the absolute limit.
"I am not so stupid as to want to change the current format but there are not enough national champions in the last 32 of the tournament and that cannot be right." |
