NO REGRETS FOR KROMKAMP
Jan Kromkamp has reacted to criticism of his move to Liverpool from Dutch coach Marco Van Basten by insisting he's more than happy with life at Anfield.
Van Basten has left Kromkamp out of his squad for tonight's friendly with Ecuador in Amsterdam after being frustrated by his decision to join a club where he wouldn't be guaranteed first team football.
Kromkamp admits he still harbours ambitions of playing in this summer's World Cup finals but doesn't regret his decision to sign for the Reds.
"I don't want to say too much about it," replied Kromkamp when asked about Van Basten's comments.
"I just can only say that I have got the feeling, that for myself, I have made a beautiful step. I'm very fit and I feel very happy here."
"If the national coach would appeal to me, then I'm ready for it. And if he finds that others are better, then he has to take someone else.
"Of course I would love to go to the World Cup, but I can only wait and do my best." |
